Were in the dead of winter. you know what that means. Cracked, chapped, dried out skin, winter itch, dry brittle hair, fragile nails and sometimes when things get really really bad the dryness we experience from the cold can cause bloody noses and sore throats. Wrinkles ladies, think wrinkles! All the lotion and nasal sprays in the world will not "cure" the problem. and you can drink all the water on this earth but its not going to change the fact that you must look to the humidity in the air within your space. If your experiencing any of these issues on a daily basis the humidity in the air is the culprit.
First lets take a look at the facts. When the temperature drops so does the humidity. The humidity in your home can drop (and most likely will) to anywhere between 13 and 15%. that's lower then the Sahara Desert that clocks in at roughly 35%. When humidity levels are this low, the air draws moisture from everything. People furniture and pets are at risk of drying up like prunes. Your home literally becomes a dehydrator and its contents slowly dry out. You and your family experience the life of beef jerky in the making.
Over the years I have had many humidifiers. Some were great, others not so much but there is only one that I have had over 4 years and its still going strong. It makes no noise besides the occasional air bubble it releases into its tank as it takes in more water. You can check it out here and read other reviews on its performance.
Basically you just need to get more humidity in your life in the winter. If you have radiators you can always be shabby chick and place nice pots on there and it will serve its purpose. the nice thing about that is it is wireless and who does not love wireless? Its like humidity wifi. Many of us must go the wallet route and go shopping. Believe me, you wont regret it, your nose throat and skin will thank you. Your pets and plants and home and furnishings will thank you (don't you hear all those creaks and popping the house makes static zaps and cracked looking painted baseboards?- low humidity my friend). You'll be hugging your humidifier and want one for every room, which is recommended.
p.s. there is the flip side where too much humidity will cause mold growth and wall paper peeling but really, that's not going to happen unless your running 3-4 humidifiers per room all day.
